Hammerman (partially lost ABC animated series; 1991)
Hammerman is a short-lived American-Canadian Saturday morning cartoon, produced by DIC Entertainment and starring pop rapper MC Hammer as a youth center worker named Stanley Burrell (Hammer's real name) who owns a pair of magical dancing shoes (which are alive and can speak), which, when worn, cause him to transform into the superhero, Hammerman. The cartoon was aired from September 7th to December 7th, 1991, on ABC for a total of 13 episodes.
Availability
As of 2019, nine full episodes and one clip of the show have resurfaced online. Of these, five are in full English, one is in English with Polish over-dubbing, three are dubbed in Finnish, and the clip is dubbed in Latin Spanish.
Update Log
August 11th, 2017 - An anonymous user on 4chan posted a thread claiming to have VHS tape recordings of 12 episodes of Hammerman. To prove he had the episodes he posted a screenshot of episode 11 and released the titles for all the episodes he had. However, he doesn't want to release them to prevent any legal issues.[1]
November 7th, 2017 - YouTuber "areyoustilllistening" uploaded the full lost episode "Nobody's Perfect" to his channel.
January 13th, 2018 - An anonymous user on fireden.net claimed to remember the title of episode 13 as "Not Everything is What is Seems" although this cannot be confirmed as the episode hasn't been found yet.[2]
November 25th, 2018 - YouTuber "Peter Lavalle" uploaded some clips from an old VHS recording of Hammerman to YouTube (specifically a clip of the show's intro, the first commercial break and a small bit of the episodes title card). It was later found out that Peter Lavalle's recordings was actually of a previously unknown Hammerman episode entitled "Dropping Out."
January 9th, 2019 - Lost Media Wiki user YoshiKiller2S contacted Peter Lavalle and inquired about if he could release all of his "Dropping Out" recording to YouTube or in case Peter didn't want to risk a possible copyright strike if he could send YoshiKiller a digital copy of the episode so Yoshi could release it safely onto various archiving websites. Peter then later responded to him and agreed to upload the entire episode on to YouTube the following weekend.
January 12th, 2019 - Peter Lavalle uploaded his "Dropping Out" recording on to YouTube in its entirety.
February 12th, 2019 - User "JetAviator00" contacted an anonymous user that claimed to have some Hammerman episodes in the Latin Spanish dub. One of the episodes he listed was a previously unknown episode entitled "Work This" and supplied a 1-minute clip from the episode.
October 24th, 2019 - YouTuber "Viihdekonserni" uploaded VHS recordings of the show to his YouTube channel, these recordings contained Finnish dubs of numerous lost Hammerman episodes.
