Peppa Pig is one of the longest-running British animated preschool programs of all time, being shown in a whopping 180 territories, along with having tons of merchandise sold all around the world. But prior to being rerun on Nick Jr. in the 2010s, Peppa Pig was first shown to the American audience in 2005 with an American dub, when Cartoon Network launched its ill-fated preschool block, Tickle U (which itself also featured other American dubs that are considered lost).
As the Tickle U block only lasted a year and a half, the U.S. dub went out along with the block. The only found trace of the dub is a 30-second promo video. All post-2007 U.S. releases of the show use the U.K. dub, which was previously seen everywhere else, most likely due to poor ratings of the U.S. dub compared to the original.
A marathon of Peppa was broadcast on Boomerang in Thanksgiving 2005.
Voice Cast
The American Dub of Peppa was produced in Miami at Chrom Studios. Elaine Torres said that she voiced Suzy Sheep in the American broadcast[1]. Chloe Dolandis was the voice of Emily Elephant and Richard Rabbit.[2]
