The entire world should be familiar with the infamous September 11th, 2001, terrorist attacks on New York, in which several planes crashed, and the World Trade Center towers crumbled. Following the event, news coverage flooded prime time and warranted the editing of television programming,[1] including several episodes of the Transformers: Robots in Disguise anime series that were re-edited in order to remove scenes that were considered distasteful for the audience.
Most of the episodes were later released unedited on the DVD box set by Maximum Entertainment, including the unaired episodes. However, for some reason, the heavily-edited version of "Spychangers to the Rescue" was used for the DVD release. As a result, the original dubbed version became hard to find for quite some time.
In the re-dubbed version, all references to the energy generator exploding are removed and are replaced with the threat of said generator cracking open, which would release a liberating gas that would corrode the Autobots' circuits. The original version was not available anywhere online until November 15th, 2013, when YouTuber "AnonyTF" uploaded a VHS recording of one of the episode's early airings.
