Combat 3 was an obscure first-person multiplayer shooter made in the Unity engine mostly using free assets for player models and weapons.

Gamemodes

The game features multiple modes to play on such as the following:

  • Team Deathmatch
  • Deathmatch
  • Classic (If a player dies during a round, they have to wait for it to end in order to respawn)
  • Zombie (Few players start as zombies and they have to infect the rest of players, the zombies had HP boost to balance the chances)
  • Rocket (The only weapon players could use was a rocket launcher)
  • Bomb (One team's objective was to activate the bomb located in the second team's base, the bomb could be defused)
  • Sniper (The only weapon players could use was a sniper rifle)

Features

Combat 3 presented various types of different guns featuring a Desert Eagle, AW50, few SMG's, shotguns, several assault rifles, two grenade launchers and a rocket launcher. All the weapons used the same reloading animation, except for the shotguns, Desert Eagle, M79, and rocket launcher.

The animations were very simple and didn't had the basic things covered such as magazine injection. The only exception were the animations for Desert Eeagle, M79 and the rocket launcher which were more detailed.

The game featured an inventory system where a player could buy guns which then would be given to them automatically after spawning (by default, the only weapons given to players were a Desert Eagle and AW50). If one player didn't buy a weapon in their inventory, they could find them all around the maps in the game, but these would disappear after death.

The game gained popularity due to the usage of Minecraft-inspired maps in the game and an ability to chat in-game. The community for Combat 3 mostly consisted of users from Poland, due to the fact that popular sites such as cda.pl or jeja.pl hosted the game.

Availability

Combat 3 servers were closed around 2017-2018 and current links leading to the game redirect to Combat Reloaded, a different game.

The game's files have been mostly recovered in 2021, but most of the maps are still missing or are bugged. The Flashpoint archive has an older version of Combat 3 recovered with most maps, yet without the servers working.
