The Apprentice is a short comedy film that was intended to be released as part of the 2013 sketch comedy film Movie 43 widely considered one of the worst movies ever released. Directed by Australians Steve Baker and Damon Escott, the film stars Anton Yelchin as a necrophiliac working at a morgue who accidentally revives a dead body with his thrusts.
Availability
Originally shot in 2010, the studio decided that the 6-minute segment was too risque for inclusion into Movie 43. Instead, the short premiered at the 2014 LA Comedy Festival before being uploaded in its entirety to Steve Baker's Vimeo account.
On June 19th, 2016, Anton Yelchin died in a tragic accident whereupon the short was taken down within the same week. According to Baker, the film was removed due to "personal reasons". The only footage that remained after this removal was a 50-second compilation on Vimeo that had been uploaded by the film's actress; Maria Volk.
A year later, Baker released a 1-minute excerpt due to fan demand.[1]
