Naturally, the animal rights groups were up in arms about the programme and demanded its cancellation. Whether it did air is somewhat unclear... during my research via British Newspaper Archive, I found a few listings of Man Versus Beast on ITV2 in December 2003, a month following the show reportedly being dropped. It's possible that it did get broadcast but fell into obscurity ever since. More than meets the eye, this one.
