The "Hotline to God" PSA,[1] also known as "Dial His Mother's Number", is a religious PSA aired on ABC-5 (now TV5) along with the Please Pray The Rosary commercial and the 1 o' clock prayer. It is one of ABC-5's station-produced rosary advocacy PSAs. It was aired in the 1990s until presumably 2004 upon the acquisition of ABC by Antonio "Tonyboy" O. Cojuangco, Jr. There was also a revised edition made in 2000 and was also said to be station-produced.

The PSA shows people's everyday lives with a clock shown each hour. It was aired always at 6pm and is also known as the 6 o' clock habit by people.

Premise

It is known that each hour, a clock displays pertaining to that hour. The commercial starts at 6am, with pictures of an alarm held by a hand, turning off a faucet, a shower that is on, and a girl putting on lipstick. In the 2000 revised version, the lipstick scene was replaced by a girl combing her hair. From 7am-9am, people walking in an office were shown. In 12nn, people eating outside were shown. From 1pm-3pm, there is a telephone ring with a hand shown to pick up the phone, and people busy at work. From 4pm-5pm, people going home were shown and while the voiceover is speaking, the telephone rings non-stop. The voiceover then said these lines: "Do we ever stop and think that someone especially in times like these..." The clock then goes to 6pm and in white background, the background became black and the voiceover continued, "and in everything that we can do... (pause) Dial His Mother's Number." (In the 2000 revised edition, the background was changed to light and an island background with birds flying) When the voiceover said the line, a hand was shown holding a rosary in a silhouette form was shown and a few words. In the 2000 revised version, the clock was said to form a rosary. It also said that the V/O spoke these lines, "Dial His Mother's number, it would only take 15 minutes to thank Him." in the last part. While the V/O spoke these lines in the 12:00 scene, "Or at least doing your job then you'll have coffee breaks" and a worker in the background said, "Why have your chances?."[2][3]

Availability

It was continuously aired at 6pm every day before the station ID and the news program Balitang-Balita.[4] The voiceover is still unidentified but some people said it was MK Borricano, the longest-serving voiceover of ABC-5. However, some persist that it was Arvy Villamarzo, a.k.a. The Raven.

This PSA is still lost to this day along with other religious-produced PSAs by ABC-5.
