The game would have played similarly to the game series' ''Mario Kart'' and ''F-Zero'' in the sense that it would have played at a fast pace and had a feature for battling with weapons along with panels on the track which when a character drives over them, the kart would have slowed down or spin out. Every character would be assigned a unique kart which stayed in the art style of the series represented but made into futuristic versions.

SpongeBob SquarePants and the Nicktoons Gravjet Racing was a racing game planned for release in 2009 featuring characters from SpongeBob SquarePants, Barnyard, Ren And Stimpy, Fanboy And Chum Chum, My Life As A Teenage Robot, The Mighty B and possibly more.[1] Before it's cancellation, the ESRB rated the game and gave it an E rating along with stating that it was intended to be released for the Xbox 360 and PC.[2] The developer was confirmed to be Santa Cruz Games in a video about the company.[3]

Gameplay

The game would have played similarly to the game series' Mario Kart and F-Zero in the sense that it would have played at a fast pace and had a feature for battling with weapons along with panels on the track which when a character drives over them, the kart would have slowed down or spin out. Every character would be assigned a unique kart which stayed in the art style of the series represented but made into futuristic versions.

Availability

The game did leave the beta stage and was ready to be released, but was cancelled due to financial difficulties.[4]

For awhile, no builds of the game were released online, only screenshots.

On August 1st, 2024, YouTuber Alpha Archive found a build of the game and uploaded it to Archive.org the following day.[5][6]
