The Way of All Flesh is a 1927 film directed by Victor Fleming. The film stars Emil Jannings in a role that, along with the film The Last Command, would earn him the very first Academy Award for Best Actor.[1] The film tells the story of a bank clerk who is seduced by a woman and loses the securities he was transporting.
Status
Unfortunately, despite its acclaim, the film has been lost to time,[2][3] and it is unknown how many copies there are and if any have survived. There are, however, two surviving clips of the ending as well as a few stills, which means there may still be surviving copies somewhere. The clips and stills can be found below.
