The seven comics were originally posted to the Eddsworld website in November of 2004; however, they were removed following a redesign in mid-to-late 2005. After this, the only comic available online was #2, which Edd posted to DeviantArt the same day he drew it. Edd reposted the first comic to his Tumblr in 2011, and #6 was later shown in the 2016 documentary 'The Eddsworld Legacy'.


==Reasons/Speculations==
On October 14, 2024, the remaining lost comics were posted to Eddvault.
There are two reasons and/or speculations for the lack of the other comics being released to the internet. The main reason/speculation being that Edd was most likely working on Eddsworld animations and didn’t want to stall for time uploading any old comics he had created.
The second reason/speculation is during the time when ''Eddsworld'' was still being formed (late 2004-early 2005), Edd was going through some computer troubles meaning that he had to get his computer fixed.<ref>[https://eddsworld.livejournal.com/1828.html#comments LiveJournal entry in which Edd notes his consistent computer issues] Retrieved 14 Sept '18</ref><ref>[https://eddsworld.livejournal.com/4130.html?mode=reply#add_comment LiveJournal entry in which Edd notes his computer being repaired] Retrieved 14 Sept '18</ref> When computers are usually sent to be fixed (Mainly due to viruses or malfunctions), the hard drives get wiped has a new OS freshly installed or on some occasions, the hard drive gets replaced. The latter is probably the reason why the other comics haven't been released.

The Best of the Worst (formerly, The Legacy of Tom and Edd) was a webcomic series created by Edd Gould (1988-2012) in 2004, the comics were most likely a predecessor/prototype for what later became the official Eddsworld comics. Previously, the only comics available online were comics 1, 2, and 6. Comics 3, 4, 5, and 7 were found by Eddvault on October 14, 2024.

This webcomic should not be confused with a short-lived 1991 Fox TV show with the same name.

Synopsis
