The Awful Truth About Society is a public access TV show that aired on Missoula Community Access Television (MCAT Channel 189) that stars Emmett K. the Punk Rocker, previously known as Rabid the Dog Punk, who was born on December 11th, 1967. It used to air at 4:00 PM but then use to air rare specials on Wednesdays at 10:30 PM. The show has aired from December 10th, 1994 to September 2015, when Emmett announced his retirement. The last known appearance of the show was in 2020.

On March 29th, 2015, Vine user sturfur posted the infamous clip of Emmett saying "Whoops, my anarchy symbol". However, the original user who posted it was Felix the poop cat on February 21st, 2015. It soon gained popularity with multiple Tumblr users drawing their characters saying the phrase.
