The Wizard of Oz Sing-a-Long (partially found host segments; 2002)
On July 4th 2002, Turner Classic Movies aired a special version of the popular 1939 film The Wizard of Oz by MGM, called The Wizard of Oz Sing-a-Long.
Segments
The segments shown during the special were hosted by Robert Osborne and The Powerpuff Girls (as cohosts).
Currently, all that is known for the first segment (although incomplete) is that Blossom would develop some sort of crush on Robert Osborne while Bubbles argues that she knows how to read, but Buttercup says to her that she’s so lying. Blossom then tells her sisters to cut it out, and whispers that are embarrassing her in front of “Mr.” Osborne, which then makes both Bubbles and Buttercup say “Robert!”.
For the interview segment, it has Robert interviewing the three girls in order to promote their movie (which came out on July 3rd of that exact year, 2002), then they recite Dorothy’s “There’s no place like home” line while wearing ruby red shoes just like Dorothy’s shoes from the film.
Availability
Currently, no new footage (except for a promo, and a part of the intro segment) has resurfaced to the public, and it is also unknown if anyone has recorded all of the segments. TCM themselves may still have the segments, as they have occasionally released various hosting segments among other things through the "TCM Backlot" subscription service.
