Jaguar Mishin Sashi Senyou Soft: Kirby Family, also known as Kirby Family, was a program developed by Natsume and was a collection of 32 pre-set patterns forming the like of characters from the Kirby series, which, when transmitted by the Game Boy Color to a special embroidery machine manufactured by Jaguar. The pattern was selected by being reproduced on cloth. It was the spiritual successor of Jaguar Mishin Sashi Senyou Soft: Mario Family, a Japan-only Game Boy Color game that operated exactly the same way. Screenshots and promotional artwork confirm several of the patterns that could have been embroidered. These included Kirby in four poses, Ribbon, Waddle Dee, Emp, and Chacha.

Cancellation

The program was showcased along with the embroidery machine at Nintendo Space World 2001 with a release date of September 10th, 2001, and the price going for ¥6,800 (or $62.99 U.S. dollars as of 4/26/2021). However, the plans to retail it outside of the event were scrapped for unknown reasons, likely due to its predecessor's poor sales, and the embroidery machine's inaccessibility to the game's target audience.

Availability

Only 2 screenshots of the game existed initially, including what would of been the logo on the box art.

On September 9th, 2020, on 4chan, an archive labelled platinum.7z was leaked to the public. Inside it were among other things the Game Boy Lot Check (which includes both Game Boy and Game Boy Color master ROMs of diverse games, including those that never saw the light of day). Among them was either the final build or a release candidate of Kirby Family, seemingly content complete. The ROM is entirely compatible with the embroidery machine and functions identically to had the game been released commercially.
