That '70s Show was an American sitcom created by Bonnie and Terry Turner that aired from August 23, 1998 to May 18, 2006 on FOX. It centers around a group of six teenagers (played by Topher Grace, Laura Prepon, Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis, Danny Masterson and Wilmer Valderrama) living in the fictional Point Place, Wisconsin during the late 1970s (May 17, 1976, to December 31, 1979 to be exact). The show was a huge success upon it's debut in 1998 and became Fox's longest running sitcom (second to Married... With Children) and launched the careers of its main cast.

A spin-off titled That '80s Show premiered on Fox in 2002 and was cancelled due to low ratings and negative reviews.^[1] A sequel series entitled That '90s Show premiered on Netflix in January 2023 and has since been renewed for a second season^[2].

While the show has aired in several countries both during and after its run, there was an attempt to adapt the show for British audiences, titled Days Like These, a year into the American version's run.

Premise

The British version titled Days Like These follows almost exactly the same story as the American version (with some different character names and references to 70s American culture being swapped with 70s British culture)^[3].

Availability

Thirteen episodes were made and the series premiered on iTV on 12 February 1999^[5], but after six episodes aired the show was cancelled^[6] and four more episodes were aired before the show was completely removed from ITV after 14 July 1999. The show never received a home media release since its cancellation and has since fallen into obscurity. In 2013, YouTube user Anglogirl uploaded home recordings of 8 of the 10 aired episodes that can still be found today^[7]. The other two aired episodes and the three unaired episodes^[8] remain lost to this day and given how fast the show was cancelled, it's unlikely they series will resurface in full.
