It centers around a group of six teenagers (played by Topher Grace, Laura Prepon, Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis, Danny Masterson and Wilmer Valderrama) living in the fictional Point Place, Wisconsin during the late 1970s (May 17, 1976, to December 31, 1979 to be exact). The show was a huge success upon it's debut in 1998 and became Fox's longest running sitcom (second to Married... With Children) and launched the careers of its main cast.
A spin-off titled That '80s Show premiered on Fox in 2002 and was cancelled due to low ratings and negative reviews.[1] A sequel series entitled That '90s Show premiered on Netflix in January 2023 and has since been renewed for a second season[2].
While the show has aired in several countries both during and after its run, there was an attempt to adapt the show for British audiences, titled Days Like These, a year into the American version's run.
