Kangaroo Jack was a buddy comedy film originally released on January 17th, 2003, in the United States. However, there is a significant difference between the cut that was released and some of the content that was originally filmed for the movie.
Early in production, the film was intended to be a mob comedy called Down and Under with an R rating planned filled with swearing and nudity.[1] After a poor test screening, producer Jerry Bruckheimer increased the screentime of the kangaroo, toned down the adult content, and replaced the animatronic kangaroo with a computer-generated kangaroo as well as marketing the film as a talking animal kids film ala Snow Dogs.[2]
The audio commentary by the cast and crew revealed that the cut would have had a scene where Jessie (Estella Warren) gives Charlie (Jerry O' Connell) his Captain Amazing bracelet back.
On April 4th 2022, user YoshiKiller25 found and uploaded the script on Google Drive.[3] While the original cut may still exist somewhere, only 50 seconds of footage has ever been uploaded from it.
