Status: Lost

Anne of Green Gables is a made-for-television British mini-series directed by Joan Craft and based on the novel of the same name by Lucy Maud Montgomery. Its run consisted of five 45-minute long episodes. All are currently lost.

Unfortunately, it is believed to have fallen victim to the BBC's purge of serials from the 1970's that they deemed to have little commercial value. There are rumors, however, that the miniseries was released on Betamax videotape. Given that contemporary BBC media - including several early episodes of Doctor Who - have since been found in private hands, there may be some home recordings of the Anne miniseries still out there.

Little other information is available, and no footage or promotional material has been preserved save for a single screenshot of Kim Braden as the young Anne from the opening episode.
