Big BBQ Blowout (partially found interstitials of YTV event; 2006)
Big BBQ Blowout was an event that took place once during Canada Day on July 1, 2006, on YTV. The block ran for 8 hours from 12:00 noon to 7:00 p.m.. The block revolved around Ian Kelley from Being Ian hosting interstitials throughout programming in celebration of Canada Day in a star-studded fashion. Notably, new original animation was produced for the block for not just Ian (and Yvon from Yvon of the Yukon), but also for Captain Flamingo, Jacob Two-Two and The Amazing Adrenalini Brothers as well.[1] However, for Martin Mystery and Jane and the Dragon, clips are recycled from the actual shows respectively but use newly-recorded dialogue just for these bumpers. A sneak preview of the then-upcoming Erky Perky also premiered during the block, with a bumper featuring them as well.
Programming that aired during the block included in the following order:
- Captain Flamingo
- Martin Mystery
- Jane and the Dragon
- Jacob Two-Two
- Yvon of the Yukon
- The Amazing Adrenalini Brothers
- Being Ian
- Erky Perky (sneak preview)
- Martin Mystery (repeat)

Some of the bumpers have been resurfaced through personal tapes (mostly from user DangerousVHS), however, as of 2024, the rest of them are currently missing. While the promo advertising the event has footage from some lost bumpers, they're very brief. According to the broadcast logs submitted to the CRTC, a total of 15 bumpers were made for the event.
Some old Wikipedia articles for the shows featured mention the event and detail some of the bumpers. An old version of the Jacob Two-Two article describes one of the bumpers (most likely "Jacob In Car") where Jacob mentions the party being far away in Burnaby and Monty joking that Mr. Dinglebat could fly them there with one of his spy jets. [3] The old Amazing Adrenalini Brothers Wikipedia article also mentions a bumper that is likely "Adrenalini High Jump" (which is described as a remake of the Amazing Adrenalini Brothers episode "High Dive of Doom!").[4]
On July 24, 2024, YouTube user The Sponge Boy uploaded the "Fireworks" bumper, sourced from an archived Corus Entertainment article regarding the event.[5]
