Status: Lost

Street Fighter was a fighting game released by Capcom for arcades in 1987, and since its commercial success in arcades, it has become one of the highest-grossing video game franchises of all time. A port of this game to home consoles such as the ZX Spectrum, Amiga, Commodore 64, and TurboGrafx-16 was released the following year, and a port to the NES was planned, but was never released, and many details about it remain unknown.

A Capcom sales brochure distributed in 1988 listed Street Fighter as an upcoming game release for the NES.[1]

The Only Screenshot

Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection was released on May 29, 2018 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the series. The only screenshot of the NES port was presented in the "Museum" section included in the collection.[2] The section was worked on by video game historian Frank Cifaldi, and Cifaldi took to Twitter to share some of the cancelled Street Fighter projects and early concepts shown in the section.[3]

Availability

As for the NES version, then the existence of a prototype ROM, other screenshots, etc. have not yet been revealed.
