Wiggly, Wiggly Christmas (partially found original version of Wiggles video; 1996)
Wiggly, Wiggly Christmas is a Christmas video made by the Australian Children's group The Wiggles that was released on October 13th, 1997, international releases of the video in the United States, Canada and United Kingdom followed in the next 9 years. It is the group's sixth video released after the concert film Wiggledance! four months earlier and is also the group's first Christmas video. The video named after the album of the same name and all songs from the album (outside of "Reindeer Express" and "Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer" in later releases after 1999) did appear on the video. The video began production in September 1996 around the time the album came out, making it the first Wiggles video to start production a year before it's released.
Two known songs that were filmed for the video were "Go Santa Go" and "It's a Christmas Party," "On The Goodship Feathersword" and lots of blue screen stock footage of Santa and his reindeer and elves followed not long after. The video for "Go Santa Go" was used as promotion for the album. After production of Wiggly, Wiggly Christmas was complete, The Wiggles updated their shirts and costumes and production on their theatrical film simply titled The Wiggles Movie began and completed filming after 6 weeks in mid-April 1997. When the Wiggly, Wiggly Christmas video came out in October 1997, the group's shirts, costumes and sets were different from what they looked like before the production of The Wiggles Movie, though footage of Santa and his reindeer and elves were left in the final version. It's unknown when production on the video restarted or if production on the original version ever completed and it's likely production restarted when The Wiggles Movie (that would be released two months after the video's release) used the updated shirts and costumes.
The video for "Go Santa Go" that was used for album promotion became pretty hard to track down until December 15th, 2016 when YouTube user Atsartas10 ABCforkidsfangirl uploaded the final 105 seconds of the video. Where they got the footage is unknown. Outside of a few production photos, no footage from "It's a Christmas Party, On The Goodship Feathersword" has surfaced. It's unknown if any of the songs from the final version were filmed before reshoots began.
