Status: Existence Unconfirmed

Uma Viagem de Núpcias que Acaba Mal (A Wedding Trip That Ends Badly in English) is an alleged silent film from 1899 produced by the pioneer of cinema in Brazil, Paschoal Segreto.[1]

Production by Empreza Paschoal Segreto which, based on the title, one might think is a fiction film. Which is strange, because until that moment only documentaries were being produced in Brazil.

There is a film from the same year called "Infelicidade de um Velho na Primeira Noite de Casamento", due to the duplicity of the title, it is probably the same film, just with the title changed.[2]

Availability

Vicente de Paula Araújo in the book "A Bela Época do Cinema Brasileiro" says:

"It is known that P. Segreto showed many free gender views in his cinemas. This one is of French origin."[3]

Researchers believe this film to be the British film Two A.M.; or, the Husband's Return, directed by Robert W. Paul, which tells the story of adrunken husband returning home late at night to the irritation of his wife.

Despite this, it cannot be said that it is this film, as no copy of Uma Viagem de Núpcias que Acaba Mal has survived.
