Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! is an American children’s animated series created by Bob Boyle which ran on Nick Jr. from 2006 up until 2014. The series focuses on Wubbzy, Widget, Walden, and Daizy (introduced in Season 2) as they go through many misadventures and events in the fictional town of Wuzzleburg. The series was produced by Bolder Media, and distributed by Starz Media.
History
Around 2006, the time Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! first premiered, a British dub was made to not confuse children on pronunciation and to localize any slang or accent to be used in the show. This dub ran on Nick Jr. UK and Nick Jr 2, and when Season 2 premiered, exclusively ran on Nick Jr. 2.
Some differences and changes are noticeable in the dub, such as Kooky Kid saying "Krazy" instead of "Kooky", though this is not in effect during songs featuring said character.[1]
Wubbzy is voiced by Janet James, who voiced Pablo in the British dub for The Backyardigans. Widget is voiced by Julie Ann Dean. Walden is voiced by Wayne Forester, and Daizy is voiced by Lynn Cleckner.[2]
In 2014, the dub ended it's run when Viacom's rights to distribute and broadcast the show expired. This impacted all dubs and broadcasts of the show that ran on any Viacom owned channel.
Availability
This dub has lack of information online as a whole due to the general obscurity of it, and barely any recordings are available online besides what has resurfaced.
No home media of the dub has released either. Wubb-Idol released in the UK, but it uses the original US version, and not the UK dub. Streaming services in the UK also use the original US version.
While Season 1 has mostly resurfaced as of now, Season 2 still remains mostly lost and the information for the dub of the second season is extremely scarce online.
