Parent Tales From Dragon Tales (lost "Dragon Tales" TV special; 2001)
Dragon Tales is a PBS educational animated series which premiered on September 6th, 1999 and ended in 2005. The show revolves around two kids, Emmy and Max alongside their friends, a group of dragons, going on quests around dragon land and learning morals along their various adventures.
In 2001, a one-hour long special aired titled Parent Tales From Dragon Tales.
Plot
The special follows five families who are given cameras by the show's producers to record their child's behavior and interaction with his family. After this, the parents are brought to a picnic and are accompanied with child development specialists Becky Bailey and Gloria Rodriguez, where they talk about dificulties with raising their children, such as getting them to go to sleep and the occurence of tantrums. They then develop ways to fix these issues such as considering their perspective, setting limits and encouraging indepence to name a few. With the parents reporting better behavior on their kids after two months.[1][2]
Availability
As of now, the special is only known to have aired twice on WETA, and thrice on WHUT, both of which are television stations owned by PBS and located in Washington.[1] No images or clips from it have ever resurfaced and it was also never included in any home media release of the show, rendering it as completely lost.
