Vista da Baía de Guanabara (lost first Brazilian film; existence unconfirmed; 1898)
From The Lost Media Wiki
Affonso Segreto was an Italian who worked with photography, and in 1898 when he was arriving in Brazil with the aim of selling equipment, Segreto was amazed by the view of Guanabara Bay, and so he took a Lumiére model camera and started filming the view.
It is considered by many researchers to be the first Brazilian film, even though a year earlier, in 1897, at the Cassino Fluminense, 4 films premiered, which are considered the first Brazilian films on record.
Controversies
Some researchers question whether the film really existed, as there are no records that prove its existence. If the film really existed, it was never shown.
Availability
