Given the information from the website and newspaper articles, the format is theorized to be similar to the UK's own Family Feud, "Family Fortunes" due to the similarity of the dream prize correlating with the star prize in their respective shows.<ref>[https://markgoodson.fandom.com/wiki/Family_Fortunes Family Fortunes Wikia page]Retrieved 13 October '22</ref>. But, the presentation and set could also be comparable to the 1999 revival of "Family Feud" starring Louie Anderson as both shows came out a year apart each other and took similar design cues for the game board being a graphical screen/projection.

Status: Lost

Släktslaget (to English: The Family) is a revival series of Fråga Släkten (to English: Ask the Family), a Swedish adaptation of the American game show Family Feud that was created by Mark Goodson and Bill Todman. It premiered on SVT2 on February 26th, 2000, and stopped airing episodes on SVT1 and SVT2 until May 17th, 2000, lasting the show for 2 months and 21 days on the air. Ingvar Oldsberg, a mainstay presenter for SVT at that time reprised his role from Fråga Släkten as the host of the show.

Only 4 photographs[1][2][3][4] and multiple TV listings of the show in a few paywalled Swedish newspaper archives circulate online but no footage of the show has ever surfaced.

Brief Description

Swedish

"Släktslaget med Ingvar Oldsberg. Frågesport där två väl valda familjer drabbar samman och 100 slumpvis utvalda svenskar står för svaren. Kunskap, humor, fördomar och tempo i en underhållning, som också engagerar hela familjen framför TV:n."[5]

English Translation

"Släktslaget with Ingvar Oldsberg. The quiz where two well-chosen families compete and 100 randomly selected Swedes are responsible for the answers. Knowledge, humor, prejudice and pace in entertainment, which also engages the whole family in front of the TV."

Format & Presentation

Given the information from the website and newspaper articles, the format is theorized to be similar to the UK's own Family Feud, "Family Fortunes" due to the similarity of the dream prize correlating with the star prize in their respective shows[6]. But, the presentation and set could also be comparable to the 1999 revival of "Family Feud" starring Louie Anderson as both shows came out a year apart each other and took similar design cues for the game board being a graphical screen/projection.

However, there's very few media relating to Släktslaget available to the public to prove these theories as conclusive.

Episodes

According to the newspaper article advertising the show, an initial batch of 12 episodes were produced and aired on SVT2 and SVT1 starting in February 26th, 2000.

Availability

All of the episodes are digitized and archived physically in the National Library of Sweden but they are only available for journalistic purposes only in Sweden as you are not allowed to keep the material[7] for copyright reasons.[8] However, it might be possible for the show to be available on SVT Play's Öppet arkiv (Open archive) due to Ingvar Oldsberg's passing.[9] Due to SVT usually putting out more media for a celebrity as a tribute when they pass away.

But it is unlikely they will put this show on Öppet arkiv (Open archive) due to the lack of interest for this show compared to På spåret (On the Track), another show that Ingvar Oldsberg had created and presented.

SVT used to allow people to pay to get access for specific material they want for private use[10] with prices that range from 750 krona for a short program, 1,000 krona for a half-hour program and 1,250 krona for a full hour program.[11] However, the service has been closed for the time being with no plans of reopening.

Website

The show had a promotional website featured on the SVT website for a brief time when the show was airing, featuring a brief description of the show and its credits.[12]

The website once hosted weekly questions for people to log in to answer but the reward for answering them is unclear.

But it has been suspected to be physical prizes to own (like a television or a mobile phone as assets for it are sourced inside the archived website but not seen) due to the website advertising that if you visited the website and answer enough questions to get 1,000 points, you would get to pick your own prize.

Partial Website Translation

"Släktslaget with Ingvar Oldsberg

"You can also participate in the competition!"

✽ "Win what you want for 1,000 krona" ✽

"Släktslaget is a TV show where two families compete to guess the most common answers on questions asked to a hundred randomly selected people. The family that has the most points will go on to a final showdown where they can win a dream prize. The winning family will also go on to compete against a new family in the next show."
