Status: Partially Found

Uncle Gus is the name of two cartoon pilots created by Lincoln Peirce (creator of Big Nate) for Cartoon Network, which aired on Cartoon Network in 2000 and 2001. The first episode, "For the Love of Monkeys", aired as part of the Cartoon Cartoon Fridays Big Pick (hosted that night by Eustace from Courage the Cowardly Dog) on July 14, 2000, where it lost to The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy. Another episode, "Not So Fast!", aired on Cartoon Network's Cartoon Cartoon Fridays the following year. "For the Love of Monkeys" re-aired as part of The Cartoon Cartoon Show on December 14, 2002.[1]

Neither one of these pilots has resurfaced in English, but both have been found in Latin Spanish. A later pilot by Pierce for Cartoon Network, Spang Ho!,[2] is available online in its complete form. Gus appears as a playable character alongside three other Big Pick characters in the online Shockwave game Cartoon Cartoon Summer Resort on CartoonNetwork.com.[3]

There was also a third Uncle Gus short produced, according to Peirce in an interview[4]. However, it is unknown if it even made it aired on Cartoon Network or where it is as of now, as no other information about it. A claim from an anonymous user says that it is on YouTube in Greek, but the claim is unconfirmed and has false properties.
