A Wiggly Postcard from Asia (lost TV special of The Wiggles tour; existence unconfirmed; 2003)
A Wiggly Postcard from Asia is a documentary by the Australian children's group The Wiggles that was included as a special feature on the Cold Spaghetti Western DVD in 2004 and the TV Series 3: Lights, Camera, Action! DVD in 2008. It documents the group's tour of Asia from March 15th to March 31st, 2003 which was hosted by Playhouse Disney[1] (which added the group's television shows to their international lineup a year earlier[2]). The group was supposed to perform at the Pasir Ris in Downtown East Singapore from March 29th to 31st, but the performances were cancelled[3] (the reason wasn't disclosed at the time but back up dancer Sam Moran revealed during a 2021 Q&A that the dates were cancelled due to the SARS pandemic[4]). The tour would also be notable for lead singer Greg Page collapsing due to shortness of breath before one of the Hong Kong shows and Paul Paddick (as Captain Feathersword) had to step in. The latter two were not shown in the documentary.
The documentary shows footage of the group and cast filming a video for the song "I Climb Ten Stairs" and several promo videos. The documentary also shows a video for the lullaby version of the song Take a Trip Out on the Sea which was released on the album Go To Sleep Jeff! a month after the Asia tour. Leading speculation that a TV Special also called "A Wiggly Postcard from Asia" was made and aired on Disney Channel Australia sometime in 2003[5] (similar to The Wiggles Live In Disneyland special in 1998 and The Wiggles Big Show special in 2000). There is no proof of a TV Special called "A Wiggly Postcard from Asia" from Asia. Many users on the (now deleted) page suggest that the footage of Murray Cook talking about breakfast and schools in Asia could be from the Special. Several photos of the group with Paul Paddick as Captain Feathersword talking in front of a production crew could also be from the special. What was filmed in the photos has not surfaced and it is speculated that it could be promos for the Asia Tour or promos for the group's television series on Playhouse Disney.
The A Wiggly Postcard from Asia documentary can easily be watched online but the TV Special of the same name has not surfaced and its existence is unknown as many of the previously mentioned claims can not be verified and no listings for the special can be found of a TV Special named "A Wiggly Postcard from Asia". Indicating that the supposed TV Special may of had a different name.
