Status: Partially Found

The Wiggles is a popular children's group that formed in 1991 in Sydney, Australia. They are known for their hits Hot Potato, Get Ready To Wiggle, Fruit Salad and many others. Between 1991 and 1998, they mostly released albums and videos and toured heavily and gained popularity in Australia. On July 31, 1998, their first television series would air on the Seven Network and would be very popular in Australia and after release of the Wiggle Time and Yummy Yummy remakes later that year and the debut of their second television series the following year, the group gained international popularity with a new television series being made being produced in the 25 years since their small screen debut.

Depending on when and where their television series aired, the episodes varied in length and content with some episodes being 22 minutes long and some being as short as 11 minutes long. While many of their television output has seen a home media or streaming release, only the episodes being 22 minutes long are viewable today as many of the episodes shorter than 22 minutes were only exclusive to that network such as ABC Kids (Australian TV channel)[1], GMTV, TVNZ Kidzone (May 1, 2011 - Apr 30, 2016)[2] or country they aired in and never got a wide release and as a result, most of them have not resurfaced since their last airing such as TV Series 1 (since Jan 9, 2015)[3], TV Series 2 (since Jan 30, 2015 (in 11-minute versions))[4], TV Series 3 (since Jan 2, 2015)[5], TV Series 4 and 5 (since Jan 16, 2015)[6], and TV Series 6 (since Mar 22, 2013)[7]

Series 1 (1998)

Status: Partially Found
Series One would be the first series to air on Sprout after being pulled from Playhouse Disney after seven years and replaced with Imagination Movers. The show aired on Sprout from the original count of 13 episodes to 26 episodes that mostly consists of an original episode's content in one episode and the rest of the episode's content in the next episode. These episodes are the rarest to come by with only two episodes surfacing in their entirety, All of the episode editions' included The Tennis Ball Chase.

11-minute versions from Sprout/Kidzone (early-mid 2010s)

Status: Partially Found
Series Two aired on Sprout in the United States and on Kidzone in New Zealand for 52, 11-minute episodes (outside of the original 26, 21-minute episodes). Episodes for the Sprout/Kidzone airings of the show would have some scenes and songs shuffled around and to hide the transitions of the original episodes, transitions from Series Four and Five were used. Several recordings of these episodes have made their way online with only eight of them surfacing and only clips of the other episodes being circulated. [8]

18-minute versions from GMTV (1999)

Status: Partially Found
The second series first premiered in the UK before it aired in Australia and the United States. It aired on ITV's GMTV[10] (now known as ITV Breakfast Broadcasting Limited) and was 18 minutes long, unlike Series 1 that ran 22 minutes, and these versions of the episodes were only made for GMTV. When the show aired again on Nick Jr. UK in 2004, their 21-minute versions made for Australia and North America were used. Various shots and scenes from different episodes, including their earlier audio mixes, have popped up on the spin-off videos The Dorothy the Dinosaur and Friends Video (released in May 1999) and Captain Feathersword the Friendly Pirate (released in May 2000). Only one DVD with an 18-minute version of the episode Play was released in the UK in 2005, the rest of the 18-minute versions of the second series are lost. There have been rumors that the original GMTV versions of the episodes used to have songs from the videos The Wiggles released back in their early years. In addition, to the intros and outros being shortened. On March 31, 2023, a recording of the GMTV version of Manners found its way to the Wiggles Enthusiasts Discord server and then was later uploaded to Internet Archive, making the first time since 2005 that an episode from the GMTV version of the show has resurfaced. The rest of the series however remains lost.

Series 3 (2002-2003)

Status: Partially Lost
Series Three (entitled "Network Wiggles!" or "Lights, Camera, Action, Wiggles!") first aired in Australia in September 2002 on ABC1 and unlike the previous shows, the 52 episodes that premiered were 11 minutes long, making Series Three the first Wiggles TV show to premiered with 11-minute episodes. These versions of the episodes also aired in Canada on TVO in January 2003 and supposedly in the United Kingdom on Nick Jr sometime around 2004.[11]. When the show premiered in the United States in October 2003, the episodes were re-edited to fit the 22-minute runtime and the total of episodes the series has is 26. Some scenes and shots that were shown in the 11-minute episodes were edited out of the 22-minute versions to make way for other scenes and shots that were filmed for the 22-minute versions. Though the 11-minute versions have aired on Sprout in the United States. The 11-minute versions have been released as special features on various home media releases of many Wiggles videos (some of the episodes are cropped), although there are still many episodes that have not been given this treatment and a lot of the 11-minute episodes are not accounted for.
