Teen Angel (not to be confused with the 1997 sitcom of the same name) was a fantasy serial drama that aired on the Disney Channel in 1989, debuting on The All New Mickey Mouse Club on April 24th, and ending on May 22nd, 1989.[1] The episodes are 6-8 minutes at length when it first aired.

The show starred a pre-Beverly Hills, 90210 Jason Priestley as greaser guardian angel Buzz Gunderson, who died in a car wreck in 1959. Buzz would be given various assignments and tasks to complete in order to get into heaven.

A sequel series, Teen Angel Returns, with Priestley, Robyn Lively, and future Beverly Hills, 90210 co-star Jennie Garth, followed. It aired from October 2nd to 22nd, 1989.[2]

Reruns

Both series would air as 6-8 minute episodes in-between the All New Mickey Mouse Club program on Disney Channel in 1989. A few years later, these 6-8 minute episodes were later compiled and merged into four 25 to 30-minute episodes and aired as a stand-alone program on Disney Channel with the first series airing somewhere around 1993 and the sequel series airing somewhere around 1994[3].

Availability

ANMMC episodes

Prior to 2020, three unknown segments from various users resurfaced online from unknown episodes, though two dubbed in German. According to various users and mentions, the show seems to have a large German fanbase, possibly explaining why most of the only information on the show is in German. On June 2nd, 2013 however, YouTube user Jesse Blue uploaded the first two episodes of the series, albeit in the German dub.

On various days in August 2020, YouTube user and Disney archivist Sincerely Yours MMC uploaded various episodes of the Disney show All New Mickey Mouse Club (ANMMC) with Teen Angel and its sequel series airing in-between the episodes. From these ANMMC episodes, six episodes of Teen Angel were retrieved (episodes 1-5 and 11) and five episodes from Teen Angel Returns (episodes 3-4, 8-9, and 13) were retrieved and marked as found.

Three months later, on November 9th, 2020, the 10th episode of Teen Angel Returns was found from the same user from their October 23rd, 1989 ANMMC episode upload. This marks 12 episodes found from both series overall in 2020.

In 2021, two episodes in the Teen Angel Returns series were uploaded by the same user via ANMMC uploads being the 12th episode of the series uploaded on April and the first episode of the series being uploaded on November of that year.

On January 14th, 2022, the same user would upload the second episode of Teen Angel Returns and on April 6th, 2022, a different YouTube user by the name of TVpica would upload an airing of the finale episode of Teen Angel in English dub with German subtitles. Sincerely Yours MMC would the 5th episode of Teen Angel Returns on March 2nd, 2023, and the 6th episode of Teen Angel on April 4th, 2023.

Sincerely Yours MMC would upload the 6th episode of Teen Angel Returns on February 2nd, 2024 and the 7th episode of Teen Angel on March 31st, 2024.

Reruns

On February 4th, 2024, LMW user Vexer6 obtained copies of the reruns of all Teen Angel Returns via an anonymous Sitcoms Online user who kindly shared their copy of episodes with them. Vexer6 would later upload this episodes on the Internet Archive[3]. However, as these episodes were the reruns from and around 1994, they do not contain any episode titles and the "To Be Continued..." text always shown in 6-8 minute versions in ANMMC.

While the original ANMMC 6-8 minute version of episodes 7 and 11 of Teen Angel Returns has not been found, these episodes can be traced via the reruns. As the episodes before and after episodes 7 and 11 are found and the 1996 rerun of Teen Angel Returns has been shared via Vexer6's upload, the timestamps of these episodes can be traced as follows via the scenes that come before and the scenes that come after:

With this, all of Teen Angel Returns has been found, with three more episodes from Teen Angel missing.
