The Wiggles are a popular children's group that formed in 1991 in Sydney, Australia. Between 1991 and 1998, they mostly released albums and videos, toured heavily, and gained popularity in Australia. By the turn of the century, the group gained global popularity and their albums, videos, television shows and tours would become hugely successful, With this impact, a new Wiggles series was being manufactured around this time entitled Wiggle Time!. It consists of themed episodes that feature favorite segments from classic series, along with new introductions and additional material. These segments span from "Taking Off!" to "Wiggle Pop!", offering a nostalgic yet refreshed viewing experience for fans. Unlike other series by The Wiggles, "Wiggle Time!" does not contain any newly filmed content specifically for the series (with an exception with the prologues at the beginning of the episodes). Instead, it compiles footage from existing videos, which is presented with new introductions by the cast.

History

Federation Square in Melbourne initially offered Wiggle Time! as part of a promotion to order tickets for The Wiggles' "Wiggle Pop! Big Show" tour across Australia in 2018.[1] This event was aimed at generating excitement for the tour and provided families with a preview of the upcoming performances. The series was later picked up by Treehouse TV, where it made its official broadcast debut.

Availability

Wiggle Time! appears to be exclusive to the Canadian TV channel, Treehouse TV. No other country or channel has aired the series (outside of Canada), and there has been no YouTube, DVD, or digital release of the series, making it unique among The Wiggles' productions. This exclusivity has contributed to its relative obscurity, as fans outside Canada have had limited access to the series. Despite its exclusive airing on Treehouse TV on August 4, 2019[2] and its re-airings in 2023[3][4], Wiggle Time! remains relatively obscure due to the lack of broader distribution. Fans have expressed interest in seeing the series made available on other platforms. While it officially had another rerun in 2023, all of the episodes had been uploaded to Dailymotion sourced from a user named "Chibuike Chinedu" at an unknown date.
