Status: Partially Found

Phineas and Ferb is an animated musical-comedy television series created by Dan Povenmire and Jeff "Swampy" Marsh which aired on Disney Channel and Disney XD from 2007 to 2015. In 2013, a dub of Season 3 Episode 42 "Delivery of Destiny" in which Paul the Delivery Guy is voiced by Simon Pegg rather than Christian Slater aired on Disney XD in the UK.

History

On April 27th, 2012, "Delivery of Destiny" premiered on Disney Channel in the US. A departure from the show's regular format, "Delivery of Destiny" follows Paul the Delivery Guy, the local delivery guy for the Hightail Delivery Company who delivers construction materials to Phineas and Ferb. Paul is voiced by Christian Slater.

On June 2nd, 2012, Simon Pegg tweeted "We all got a platypus controlling us!", a line from the Phineas and Ferb episode "Brain Drain."[1] A few weeks later, Pegg was offered the role of Paul the Delivery Guy, as well as Paul's father, for the UK version of "Delivery of Destiny." On November 26th, 2012, Associated Press released an interview with Simon Pegg about his role in the episode, featuring a few short clips of the episode itself.

"Delivery of Destiny" aired on Disney XD in the UK on March 7th, 2013. Afterwards, Pegg tweeted "Hey I think my Phineas and Ferb was on Disney XD today. Hope you enjoyed it if you caught it."[2] Pegg would later go on to voice Shaun, his character from Shaun of the Dead, in Season 4 Episode 42 "Night of the Living Pharmacists."[3]

Availability

On September 30th, 2020, both Disney Channel and Disney XD were permanently shut down in the UK. Digital editions of the episode on services such as Disney+ and Amazon Prime Video use the American version of the episode. The short clips featured in the Associated Press interview are the only remaining evidence of his role in the episode.

Simon Pegg is proof of what a tweet can do for you. The British actor, a fan of the Disney show Phineas and Ferb, tweeted about it and managed to land himself a starring role in the animated hit for kids.
